Customers Can Experience Technologies From Femtocell to Enhanced Business Services At Booth 3439
WESTFORD, Mass., March 18, 2008 – The wall between fixed-line and mobile is coming down. At CTIA 2008, Sonus Networks (Nasdaq: SONS) the market leader in IP-based infrastructure will demonstrate solutions that drive new revenue opportunities and solve real business issues for carriers such as flat rate pricing pressures, retaining subscribers with cool new features, extending the boundaries of the mobile network and creating a path to 4G and 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE). Held in Las Vegas from April 1st – 3rd, operators from around the globe will be able to see the new services that partnering with Sonus Networks can bring to their business.
"Traditional industry approaches are being deconstructed as the world advances to IP," said Hassan Ahmed, CEO, Sonus Networks. "It is the consumer that is accelerating the pace of innovation and nowhere is that more evident than in the mobile sphere. Sonus brings more than 10 years of experience to this year's CTIA with unique solutions that will give operators and their customers an edge in the market."
At this year's CTIA, Sonus is showcasing not only a next generation IP-voice solution, but the only one that has been proven to deliver quality and reliability on a real-time basis. With more than 13 billion minutes of mobile IP-Voice traffic running across its networks, Sonus has established an important presence in this rapidly growing segment of the market.
At the Sonus booth #3439, experts will be on hand to discuss how Sonus can help expand IP backbones built for data to benefit mobile voice networks. Further, Sonus will demonstrate how operators can reduce the pressures associated with long distance calling and flat rate pricing with secure IP interconnect that can define business models. Finally, for a world moving steadily toward next-generation services and 4G/LTE, Sonus will demonstrate the new opportunities offered by fixed-mobile convergence and personalized features.
From its booth, Sonus will demo the following applications:
- Any to Any Messaging: Transforms an incoming message in any format (IM, SMS/MMS, etc.) to a form the recipient prefers (SMS, email, IM etc.), bringing new levels of customization and personalization to the communications experience
- Intelligent IP Video Integration: Brings together disparate end user applications such as caller ID and television. For example, while watching television, the user is informed of an incoming call or IM on the television screen with a message pop up
- Video Share: Access to subscriber content with Sonus' Video Share and Video Exchange applications, which allow video to be exchanged between consumer handsets and PCs
- Interactive Advertising: Dining guides on an interactive map can provide information with the value-add of voice and messaging services, putting directions and the ability to make a reservation at the touch of a button
- Parental Controls: Allows parents to enforce how a child’s mobile or wire-line phone is used. Tools like curfew, time-of-day restrictions and minute allocations give parents a new way to stay involved
