
Andreas Hegers
Senior Director, Global Marketing
Andreas Hegers has 30 years of experience in telecommunications, with a focus on critical infrastructure and public network operators, and has held various sales, marketing and business development roles at leading vendors such as Alcatel, Nortel, Ciena and ECI Telecom. He combines his management and strategy skills with a deep knowledge of technology, resulting in a deep understanding of the dynamics of the telecommunications market.
Andreas currently works in global marketing and is responsible for the defense marketing strategy of Ribbon Communications, among other things. Previously, he led the IP Optical Center of Excellence EMEA, and prior to that, he led business development and partner sales for EMEA and APAC.
Prior to the acquisition by Ribbon, he led corporate and solution marketing, business development and partner sales at ECI Telecom. Before joining ECI, Mr. Hegers served as Director of Market Development NGN Architectures at Ciena in the EMEA Strategic Transformation team. Prior to the acquisition by Ciena, he held various leadership positions at Nortel in market development, sales and architecture in the Metro Ethernet Networks division. He started his international career at Alcatel, as Director Account Management for national and international network operators.
