Allied Telesyn Teams with General Bandwidth As Part of Triple Play Voice, Video & Data Solution
Bothell, WA – Allied Telesyn, Inc, a global leader in IP-based networking solutions for the access edge, today announced an agreement with General Bandwidth, a leading Voice over IP (VoIP) equipment manufacturer, to resell its G6® VoIP Media Gateways in support of packet voice services with Allied Telesyn’s TN9000 series MultiService Access Platforms (MAP) and RG600 Residential Gateway CPE products.
As part of Allied Telesyn’s Triple Play service offering of voice, video, and high speed data over IP, Allied Telesyn will be integrating the G6 VoIP Media Gateway, a NEBS Level 3 certified circuit-to-packet gateway, with Allied Telesyn’s carrier grade, Ethernet/IP-based access portfolio to provide a seamless end-to-end voice services solution for Service Providers.
“Allied Telesyn is the only Tier 1 networking vendor in the industry delivering an end-to-end solution supporting Triple Play,” said Howard Kamerer, President and COO of Allied Telesyn’s North American Operations. “The G6 platform has carrier class reliability and availability, it supports multiple voice service solutions such as Class 5-derived, SIP and Softswitch and it’s extremely scalable and flexible. It’s the perfect media gateway for our leading edge Triple Play voice, video and data solution.”
The G6 platform is a fully redundant, carrier grade VoIP service gateway with the capability to scale from 240 to 3360 DSOs per chassis. Built upon a custom designed architecture, the G6 platform delivers greater than five 9’s (99.999%) availability. Deployed over a variety of broadband architectures (cable, Fiber-to-the-Premises, DSL, and T1), the G6 platform can simultaneously support multiple voice offerings including derived service from existing Class 5 switches (GR-303, TR08, V5.2), SIP-based voice services (SIP/PRI), and next generation voice (TGCP/MGCP).
“Partnering with Allied Telesyn is a natural extension for General Bandwidth as both companies manufacture carrier grade platforms which meet and exceed requirements necessary to deploy in a service provider’s Central Office facilities,” says Brendon Mills, President and CEO of General Bandwidth. “By leveraging the VoIP capabilities of the G6 platform, Allied Telesyn’s customers will have the ability to not only migrate from copper to fiber-based technologies with the MAP access products but can also facilitate the migration of voice service architectures in support of next generation voice and multimedia services.”
