Aumtech, Inc. Becomes Latest to Join OSPA; Membership in Alliance Grows To Nearly Two Dozen Leading Telecommunications Companies
WESTFORD, Mass., January 11, 2000 – Sonus Networks, the leader in carrier-class packet telephony solutions, today announced that it has expanded its Open Services Partner AllianceTM (OSPA) with the addition of Aumtech, Inc. This newest member of the OSPA brings to the Alliance significant expertise in the critical area of enhanced data and voice services.
With more than 20 participating vendors, the OSPA allows carriers, application service providers (ASPs), third party independent service developers (ISDs) and telephony system software providers to rapidly develop and deliver competitive services and applications based on the Sonus Networks Open Services ArchitectureTM (OSA).
"The ability to rapidly create and deploy new, value-added services is undoubtedly the most significant benefit of building converged packet networks," commented Gary Rogers, Sonus' vice president of sales and marketing. "We're very excited that Aumtech has joined the Alliance, and look forward to working with them to offer carriers innovative services that leverage the integration of the voice and data worlds."
"Aumtech and Sonus customers will all benefit from our partnership with Sonus," said Madhav Bhide, president of Aumtech. "The combination of our technologies gives our customers the competitive edge, with a customizable platform that is highly scalable and remarkably cost effective. We believe that Sonus offers an exceptional suite of carrier-class packet telephony solutions, and we are ready to deliver the adjunct services in the voice over packet network today."
Aumtech's Responsive Communication Suite (ARC) suite is next-generation software for creating, managing and evolving information delivery solutions. In conjunction with Sonus' OSA, Aumtech's ARC seamlessly integrates telephony, voice, computer, web, multimedia and intelligent network technologies to deliver a range of strategic service provider capabilities, such as interactive voice response, auto attendant, audiotex, paging, fax-on-demand, fax broadcasting and more.
About Sonus' OSPA
Launched in June 1999, the OSPA has gained significant industry momentum, with membership of more than 20 leading independent vendors offering subscriber-specified and user-provisioned services for the New Public Network. The OSPA gives carriers the flexibility to both develop and integrate "best-of-breed" applications, creating important new revenue streams. For participating partners, the OSPA provides open, published APIs, comprehensive developer tools, testing and support services, technology exchanges and co-marketing and sales activities. Equally important, the Alliance provides a unified customer/vendor forum for creating interoperable standards and technologies.
