TeleBermuda International Limited Chooses Complete Sonus Architecture for Enhanced Service Capabilities

CHELMSFORD, Mass., June 20, 2006 – Sonus Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: SONS), a leading supplier of service provider Voice over IP (VoIP) infrastructure solutions, and TeleBermuda International Limited (TBI), announced today that TBI has deployed a complete IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS)-ready architecture from Sonus as the foundation of its next generation voice network. This end-to-end network will support TBI's comprehensive service offerings, including wholesale voice service, converged voice and data solutions and international long distance service to the residential and business market delivered over Broadband (VoBB) for customers throughout Bermuda. TBI migrated from its legacy network to Sonus' next generation switching platform in April 2006 and has plans to expand service into additional markets including the Cayman Islands.

"TeleBermuda International is 100% focused on providing our customers with the best possible telecommunications services, and Sonus is our first choice to deliver the complete end-to-end solution that we need. This will enable TBI to continue to offer reliable, innovative and highly robust services that the marketplace expects. The Sonus infrastructure will provide TBI with significant competitive advantages, as it will assist us in streamlining our operations and provide TBI with state of the art switching capability," said Greg Swan, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of TBI.

TeleBermuda International is deploying a full suite of Sonus' IMS-ready solutions, including Sonus' GSX4000 Open Services Switch and the ASX™ Feature Server. The GSX4000 is the industry's first innovative compact VoIP switch designed to deliver carrier-class functionality, reliability and manageability and was developed specifically for service providers serving less densely populated areas, those looking to expand their network, or service providers seeking additional support for IP-based multimedia services. TBI is utilizing Sonus' Network Border Switch, one of the industry's most sophisticated solutions for addressing session control, PSTN gateway services and security requirements in a single, high performance system.

"The TeleBermuda network is a great example of the value that Sonus provides to competitive service providers," said Hassan Ahmed, chairman and CEO, Sonus Networks. "By deploying a complete IMS-ready architecture from Sonus, including the GSX4000™ compact media gateway that was specifically designed for service providers like TBI that serve smaller geographic regions, TBI can leverage both the cost-efficiencies of a Sonus-based long distance network and the robust service capabilities of Sonus' Voice over Broadband solution."
