October 30, 2007, Plano, TX - GENBAND Inc., a market-leading developer of next-generation IP gateways and application solutions, today announced that tier one Taiwanese operator Chunghwa Telecom has deployed its M6 Communication Applications Server to offer a wider range of voice and multimedia services to its enterprise and residential users.

Chunghwa Telecom is the leading telecom service provider in Taiwan, providing fixed line, mobile, Internet and data services to residential and business customers throughout the country and its offshore islands. The M6TM product deployment, which is part of a total integrated solution provided by GENBAND solution partner Phitech Corporation, follows the successful completion of a trial which began last year. The implementation went live in early 2007.

The M6 platform is an integrated, scaleable, standards-based solution that delivers the greatest number of revenue-generating applications out of the box, eases administration and works with the widest range of both network equipment and protocols to reliably support a virtually unlimited number of users. GENBAND’s M6 platform allow rapid and cost-effective expansion into new geographic markets and increases service provider ROI by leveraging existing broadband infrastructure to deliver voice services as well as grow revenues from existing customers with enhanced applications.
