(Nasdaq: SONS), global leader in SIP communications, today announced that Fonality has selected Sonus to enhance the performance, reliability and capability of its Cloud-hosted VoIP and Unified Communications (UC) network. A new Sonus customer, Fonality is one of North America's fastest growing providers of business communications and has enabled more than two billion calls across the Cloud. The company offers small and mid-size businesses across North America, Australia and Japan fully Cloud-hosted VoIP, UC and contact center services as well as hybrid Cloud-managed, premise-based IP-PBX, UC and contact center solutions.
The solution features Sonus® SBC 5200 session border controllers (SBC) and will enhance Fonality's current Cloud-hosted network by simplifying it through SIP trunk consolidation while also reducing their operating costs. The new capabilities are expected to further harden the security of Fonality's network and enable the firm to accommodate rapid new user growth for those demanding SIP-based UC and contact center application features. Fonality will also deploy Sonus NetScore, a network performance analyzer that enables service providers and enterprises to increase operational efficiencies and maximize return on investment. Sonus was selected by Fonality based on the ability to provide a highly scalable, reliable SBC platform which leverages the benefits of SIP to reduce costs and add capabilities.
