A demonstration of GENBAND’s converged services product portfolio that CCI will be selling can be see at the National Show in the Georgia World Convention Center, Atlanta on April 8-11, Booth #2526. As part of the demonstration, GENBAND will showcase a cost effective Cable VoIP deployment utilizing its S4 Application Server for advanced Class 5 services, the C2 Signaling Controller as a SIP to SS7 media gateway, and the G6 Universal Gateway providing voice communications between packet-based networks and circuit-based networks.
S4 Applications Server
GENBAND’s S4 Applications Server enables revenue-enhancing communication services over any IP network and provides a full suite of Class 5 residential and small business services, as well as exciting new enhanced features such as web-based customer portals and self-provisioning. The S4 platform offers robust Class 5 VoIP and supports SIP, MGCP, TGCP and NCS line interfaces with packet or TDM access. It supports interworking with marketing-leading ATA, IP phones, IADs, media gateways, DLCs, and BLCs. The S4 platform is designed for deployment flexibility with both a SIP interface to the signaling / PSTN gateway for larger deployments and also supporting an integrated on-board SS7 option for smaller deployments.
C2 Signaling Controller
GENBAND’s C2 Signaling Controller is a powerful new, IMS compliant product featuring market-leading SIP to SS7 and media gateway control capabilities -- packaged in a highly redundant, NEBS-3 platform. With the C2 platform, service providers who deploy SIP networks can now have full access to SS7 services enabling the use of ISUP trunks and TCAP databases as well as full support for PRI and MF-CAS trunks for transitioning calls to/from the PSTN. With its SIP to SS7 gateway function, the C2 platform terminates SS7 links and interworks SS7 signaling with SIP while providing an IMS compliant Media Gateway Control Function (MGCF) for connectivity to the PSTN.
G6 Universal Media Gateway
GENBAND’s G6 Universal Media Gateway is a standards-based circuit-to-packet platform that is deployed in over 90 service provider networks, having been deployed within switching office, head-end and Point of Presence (POP) locations. Proven interoperable with and simultaneously supporting the leading Class 5 switches, softswitches, SIP application servers, digital loop carriers (DLCs), and customer premises equipment (CPE), the G6 platform uniquely enables service providers to accelerate VoIP services and network migration by leveraging their existing and next generation network assets. The G6 platform is a true carrier class solution that provides redundancy and a fully integrated emergency stand-alone capability and will be IMS compliant as both a trunking (T-MGW) and access (A-MGW) media gateway.
