GENBAND Applications Server Powering all VoIP Deployments at Consolidated Communications
12th Largest U.S. Telecom Company Standardizing on
GENBAND M6 Platform
February 19, 2008, Plano, TX - GENBAND Inc., a market-leading developer of next-generation IP gateways and application solutions, today announced that Consolidated Communications Holdings, Inc. is expanding its deployment of the M6 Communication Applications ServerTM.
Consolidated Communications, with the recent acquisition of North Pittsburgh Systems, Inc., is now the 12th largest telecommunications company in the United States. With the addition of the Pennsylvania company, Consolidated is now providing VoIP services on the M6 platform to their customers in Pennsylvania and Texas and internally for their Illinois operations. Consolidated Communications, which has had the M6 platform in operation for its business and residential subscribers since 2003, is now standardizing on the M6 for VoIP growth in all their CLEC, ILEC and MVNO markets.
“The M6 platform has allowed us to rapidly grow our customer base with advanced VoIP offerings.” said Gregg Hope, VoIP product manager for Consolidated Communications. “The reason we chose the GENBAND M6 was because it was more of a complete solution and very easy to integrate and deploy. Standardizing on the M6 platform will provide for synergies in support, network operations and provisioning while offering a consistent set of high value business and residential applications to our growing customer base.”
The M6 Communication Applications Server cost-effectively enables advanced voice over IP and multimedia applications for business and residential users. Built for today’s network, legacy or IP, as well as future IMS network deployments, the M6 platform is an integrated, scaleable, standards-based solution that delivers the greatest number of revenue-generating multimedia services out of the box, eases administration and works with the widest range of both network equipment and protocols to reliably support a virtually unlimited number of users. GENBAND’s M6 solutions allow rapid and cost-effective expansion into new geographic markets and increase service provider ROI by leveraging existing broadband infrastructure to deliver voice services as well as grow revenues from existing customers with enhanced applications.
“Consolidated Communications is a progressive service provider that continues to grow its business both organically and through strategic acquisitions.” said Dan Lakey, executive vice president, Americas sales for GENBAND. “The M6 platform will enable them to continue to offer their customers the most extensive set of end-user focused applications for complete service differentiation.”
