GENBAND CEO Charlie Vogt Joins Ernst & Young LLP Strategic Growth Leadership Series Panel on Sources for Alternative Capital

Plano, TX, June 23, 2009–GENBAND Inc., a market-leading developer of next-generation IP infrastructure solutions, today announced that its CEO, Charlie Vogt, will join the Ernst & Young LLP Strategic Growth Leadership Series panel of leading senior executives from private equity and venture capital firms to discuss where to find growth capital in these difficult economic times. The webcast will be held Thursday, June 25 at 11:30 a.m. Eastern time.

“This turbulent economy is curtailing growth in all industries, but the truly innovative, high-growth companies are seizing opportunities in the downturn,” said Maria Pinelli, Americas Director, Strategic Growth Markets, Ernst & Young LLP.  “With capital hard to come by, we’re pleased to assemble an all-star panel of entrepreneurs, investors and advisors who have the track records and first hand experience to discuss this critical topic. GENBAND has consistently ranked as one of the fastest growing companies over the past two years despite the downturn and we’re pleased Mr. Vogt will be able to share his perspective.”

Deborah Norville will moderate the panel, which includes the following featured panelists in addition to Mr. Vogt: Pete Nachtwey, CFO, Carlyle; Susan Casey, Founder Chief Credit Officer & COO, Square 1 Bank; Lisa Gianquinto, CEO, Universal Environmental Consulting; and Gregg Slager, Transaction Advisory Services, Ernst & Young LLP. Topics to be discussed include: how private equity and venture firms evaluate whether or not to invest in a company; what do their limited partners expect as returns; how do these sources of capital differ from conventional sources; what industries are most attractive to investors; how much money is really out there.
