Frisco, TX. September 18, 2014 – GENBAND™, a leading developer of software-based real-time communications solutions, today announced that it will demonstrate key components of its comprehensive portfolio at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo September 22 -25, in Denver, CO.  GENBAND’s market-leading Multi-System Operator (MSO) solutions are designed to allow cable operators to differentiate their offerings, decrease operating costs and improve customer retention.

Solutions on Display

  • Unified Communications: GENBAND’s award-winning WebRTC-based SMART OFFICE™ solution provides MSOs advanced Unified Communications (UC) and collaboration capabilities. SMART OFFICE was recently cited as an honorable mention recipient of the 2014 Diamond Broadband Technology Review Awards for being “technologically advanced”. The Diamond Technology Review Awards recognize the top products and solutions available to the cable industry as determined by a distinguished panel of independent MSO and consulting
    engineering experts.
  • Platform-as-a-Service: GENBAND recently unveiled its Kandy™ platform, a disruptive subscription-based real-time communications software development platform, designed to help companies of all types and sizes build communications that are more integrated and immediate – built right into the way their customers interact with them and their employees work.  Kandy’s Platform-as-a-Service framework includes API’s, SDK’s and quick starts that are pre-built applications like live video assistance.
  • MSO Carrier Wi-Fi: The recently introduced QUANTiX™ Wireless Access Gateway allows MSOs to cost-effectively enhance the user experience through improved coverage, faster data speeds and seamless roaming through indoor or outdoor Small Cell and Carrier Wi-Fi deployments.
  • Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) and Distributed SBC (D-SBC):  GENBAND will highlight its NFV orchestration capabilities and D-SBC architecture, which leverages Advanced Media Software (AMS) and provides MSOs deployment flexibility with enhanced capabilities to share media and transcoding resources, centrally manage sessions and improve network resiliency.

“As the cable market leader in IP voice deployments we are committed to extending our leadership position by introducing innovative solutions that will allow our MSO customers to disrupt the status quo and grow market share by delivering new classes of solutions and services,” said Brad Bush, Chief Marketing Officer for GENBAND. “Our team is looking forward to showcasing these and other MSO offerings at SCTE, one of the premier cable events of the year.”

GENBAND’s MSO-optimized solutions portfolio is anchored by substantial research and development investments, as well as the 2010 acquisition of Nortel Networks’ carrier voice assets and 2011 purchase of Cedar Point Networks.
