GENBAND Employees Celebrate 7th Annual Global Day of Service with Volunteer Activities around the World
PLANO, Texas, May 30, 2017 – GENBAND™, a leading provider of real-time communications solutions, today announced that as part of its year-round Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts its employees will mark the company’s 7th Annual GENBAND Global Day of Service with volunteer activities in all major regions of the world. Each year on June 1st, GENBAND's global employee base participates in volunteer activities benefiting non-profit agencies and charitable organizations in virtually every country in which the company has a presence. Since the inception of the Global Day of Service or “GENBAND Day” in 2010, GENBAND employees have dedicated more than 60,000 hours to community service.
“Each year our team members spend thousands of hours throughout the year giving back to the communities in which we live and work, but our Global Day of Service offers us a special opportunity to join together with our colleagues, partners, family and friends to volunteer for causes and organizations that are near and dear to all of us,” said Robin Wright, EVP of HR and Corporate Operations for GENBAND. “In addition to working with well-known organizations such as the United Way and Special Olympics our employees are constantly reaching out to local organizations such as the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County Texas, EL MEXICANITO Institute and The Sequela Therapy Centre in the UK to support.”
Wright added, “It is truly gratifying to be a part of establishing and building ongoing relationships with organizations who need and depend on local support to carry out their missions.”
“The caring support of companies such as GENBAND is integral to the success of our organization,” said Arnulfo Ponce Director of EL MEXICANITO Institute. “With their generous support, our organization’s young recipients grow up to be very productive members of society. This would not be possible without great volunteers such as GENBAND employees, who donate their time and resources to help ensure that the students of “EL MEXICANITO” have the opportunities to achieve the same dreams as others who may be more fortunate.”
“Volunteers are so important to our mission of providing safety, healing, and justice to children victimized by abuse or neglect and we are extremely fortunate to have great local partners like GENBAND,” said Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County Vice President of Development, Melanie Carroll. “GENBAND employees are purchasing, organizing and packaging more than 100 toiletry kits that will be given to our teen children during our back to school fair. These items are essential to the personal health and well-being of our children and we are so grateful for GENBAND’s generous donation, which will assist us in providing basic necessities to our kids.”
