GENBAND Enhances Unified Communications with New A2 Intelligent Messaging Manager
Frisco, Texas, June 6, 2012— GENBAND,a leading developer of IP infrastructure and application solutions, today announced the introduction of the A2 Intelligent Messaging Manager (IMM), a unified messaging platform offering a suite of advanced, integrated voice and messaging applications. Adding to the wealth of communications tools already available on the A2™Communications Application Server, the A2 IMM empowers service providers and enterprises to deploy a broad range of carrier-grade, fully integrated unified messaging services such as voicemail, voicemail-to-text, video mail, visual messaging, fax messaging and automated attendant services. By enabling premium functionality and consolidating all messaging applications into a single A2 unified communications service across both wireline and wireless networks, GENBAND enables service providers and enterprises to reduce operating costs, generate additional revenues and bolster productivity.
“Unifying any content to any endpoint, the A2 IMM simplifies the way users access and view multiple message types such as email, voicemail, video mail and fax messaging, with full synchronization across all their devices,” said B.G. Kumar, President of GENBAND’s Multimedia Business Unit. “Whether on a laptop, IP phone, TV or mobile device, the A2 IMM enhances the unified communications experience by providing an intuitive, consolidated message inbox with a graphical user interface. We believe this innovation represents the most advanced and robust messaging platform on the market and illustrates our ongoing investment and commitment to GENBAND’s market-leading A2 Communications Application Server.”
The A2 IMM offers advanced, feature-rich messaging solutions that create new revenue streams and a superior user experience that greatly improves the productivity and efficiency of business and everyday life. Leveraging the tightly integrated speech-to-text capabilities of the A2, voicemail messages are transcribed and can be viewed and managed as email, allowing users to easily search, index, read, forward and print voice messages. Through premium video mail features, end users can record and customize their video greetings and access/retrieve video messages via the Web from their computer, mobile phone or tablet. The Automated Attendant service allows service providers and enterprises to easily administer incoming call routing via Web-based provisioning and routing options such as Dial by Extension, Dial by Department, Dial by Name, External Routing, Time of Day Routing, General Delivery Mailboxand Live Operator.
“GENBAND continues to expand its applications portfolio to meet the needs of an increasingly mobile work force that expects a common look-and-feel across all their devices, whether at home, at work or on the road,” said Ronald Gruia, Principal Analyst for Frost & Sullivan’s ICT Practice. “The A2 IMM represents a strategic leap forward for GENBAND, as it raises the bar for functionality service providers can offer to their customers, giving these subscribers the ability to manage all their communications (e-mail, voicemail, fax, social networking, etc.) from a single, user-friendly interface. We are pleased to see these types of investments in VAS (Value Added Services) and believe they can spur even more innovation by industry leaders.”
