GENBAND Executives to Speak on Network Transformation, Convergence and Unified Communications at Futurecom Event

Plano, TX, October 21, 2010 – GENBAND, a leading developer of IP infrastructure and service solutions, today announced that key company executives will speak at next week’s Futurecom event scheduled to take place Oct. 25-28, 2010 in the TransAmerica Expo Center in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

GENBAND’s booth (A21a) will feature a variety of advanced IP business and multimedia communications solutions that are designed to help operators increase revenue potential and subscriber loyalty through the delivery of advanced VoIP, multimedia and mobility services. A key highlight of GENBAND’s booth will be the GENBAND GENiUS™ platform, a universal IP Switching and Networking platform supporting multi-purpose IP solutions. GENBAND GENiUS is believed to be the industry’s first hardware-independent, software-centric IP platform to fully integrate call control, session, signaling, security, application and traffic and policy management functions. This unique platform enables service providers to effectively grow and expand their subscriber networks with the latest state-of-the-art IP technology, offering unmatched scale, flexibility and cost savings.

Pablo Gargiulo, GENBAND’s President of Global Sales, will participate in the “Network Transformation” panel on Oct. 28 at 10:10 a.m. in the Argentina room (“B” Pavilion). This session will explore the various paths operators are taking to unify and “IP-enable” their networks to dramatically reduce costs and deliver new services. Many of today’s operators are still running their most profitable service – “Voice” – over TDM technologies, while at the same time building separate, IP-based networks for voice and multimedia services. As the IP network grows and the TDM network decline, operators will be faced with the task of driving true network convergence and managing multiple networks.

Felix P. Guanche, GENBAND Director, Regional Marketing, Caribbean and Latin America will speak in the “Intelligent Business: The Strength of Unified Communications” panel at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 26 in the Chile room (“C” Pavilion). This panel will discuss the efficient use of Unified Communications (UC) and its drivers for business growth.

Mr. Guanche will also speak in the “Fixed-Mobile Convergence (FMC) Solutions for the Enterprise” panel on Oct. 27 at 4:40 p.m. in the Uruguai room (“A” Pavilion). This panel will explore some of the latest FMC solutions that allow service providers to differentiate their service offering and increase revenues by providing converged communication services to enterprise users.

Carlos Brito, GENBAND Vice-President, Sales, Caribbean and Latin America, will speak in the “Innovation, Creativity and Action Generating Growth with Sustainability through Communications” panel in the Chile room (“C” Pavilion) at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 27. This panel will focus on the constant transformations in the business environments that provoke wide debate on the innovations, creative strategies and resources to be considered to help companies grow and develop in a sustainable way that also contributes to the evolution of the Brazilian Society.

“As the industry’s recognized market-share leader in the global service provider IP voice market, GENBAND has an in-depth understanding in the fundamental technologies that help fixed, mobile and cable service providers around the world evolve their networks to IP and beyond,” said Mehmet Balos, Chief Marketing Officer, GENBAND. “We are participating in Futurecom because it is one of the most influential conferences in the world and it gives us an opportunity to share our expertise and demonstrate our commitment to our customers’ success.”

GENBAND executives will also participate in the TVC booth #B7, located in the “B” Pavilion.
