Plano, TX, June 8, 2009 – GENBAND Inc., a market-leading developer of next-generation IP infrastructure solutions, today announced that Infonetics Research published first quarter market share statistics, which report that GENBAND holds the no. 1 market share position worldwide in trunk media gateways.

In the report, Service Provider VoIP Equipment and Subscribers, Infonetics shows that GENBAND shipped more trunk media gateway ports globally in the first quarter than any other media gateway manufacturer tracked by Infonetics. GENBAND captured 17 percent global revenue market share, with shipments increasing 82 percent and revenues increasing 44 percent quarter over quarter, propelling the company to the top of the market.

While economic conditions have exacerbated an industry pause in shipments across the board, GENBAND’s achievements during the quarter were noteworthy.”
