GENBAND Participates in 'Mobile Security in an IP World' Session at Mobile World Congress 2010

February 15, 2010, Barcelona, Spain – GENBAND Inc., a market-leading developer of next-generation IP infrastructure solutions, today announced that Dr. Natasha Tamaskar, GENBAND’s vice president of product marketing, will participate in the ‘Mobile Security in an IP World’ session at Mobile World Congress 2010. As part of the session, Dr. Tamaskar will discuss the vast security threats facing mobile operators and how these providers are protecting themselves and their customers.
The ‘Mobile Security in an IP World’ session takes place in Hall 5 on Tuesday, February 16th at 2:00 pm. GENBAND will conclude the session with its ‘Mobile Security Blanket’ presentation at 3:10 pm following two panel discussions ‘Creating a Secure Widget Experience from Development to Deployment’ and ‘Integrating Security into Every Step of the Mobile Handset Design.’ Charles Brookson, Security Group Chair of GSMA, will moderate the session.
“Service providers are currently tackling an onslaught of security concerns associated with the wireless data explosion brought on by the popularity of smartphones, as well as the rise of new technologies like Wi-Fi, LTE and femtocells,” said Dr. Tamaskar. “Securing these mobile broadband networks is one of the highest priorities for service providers. Our discussion will delve into the lurking wireless security threats and how mobile operators can protect themselves.”
