GENBAND Wins Inaugural QuEST Forum Annual Sustainability “Best Overall Performance” Award
Frisco, TX and Maidenhead, UK, October 6, 2015 – GENBAND, a leading provider of real-time communications solutions today announced that it is the recipient of QuEST Forum’s first annual Sustainability Award, “Best Overall Performance” Category.
“We continue to embed sustainability into GENBAND’s DNA,” said Darrin Whitney, GENBAND’s Chief Information and Sustainability Officer. “This is the result of a holistic, company-wide process that required the support and effort of almost every group. I’m extremely proud of the team for the work accomplished and delighted that we’ve been recognized as a leader among our peers.”
Enhancing sustainability impacts processes and workflows including building capacity, supplier auditing, lifecycle analysis, business continuity and more. By examining and reengineering these critical functions, GENBAND has become a provider of choice for customers looking to integrate the latest in sustainability within their own procurement process, minimizing risk and ensuring best practices.
“We were impressed by the across-the-board depth and quality of the effort GENBAND put forth,” said Fraser Pajak, CEO of QuEST Forum. “’Best Overall Performance’ is an exceptional achievement especially considering the quality of the competition. We look forward to GENBAND’s ongoing innovation and drive as a corporate sustainability leader.”
QuEST Forum is the originator of the TL 9000 quality management system standard and is working to create a sustainability measurement class within TL 9000 in the future to aid companies with establishing their sustainability visions, strategies and goals as well as identifying collaboration partners.
GENBAND’s sustainability focus includes its flagship Network Transformation program, which drives extensive energy and real estate cost savings and the corresponding reduction in emissions for the communications industry, one of the more energy-intensive in the world. The program includes an innovative funding model to help CSPs reap the technological, environmental and business benefits of the move to next-generation networks and has helped some of the world’s largest CSPs transform themselves into greener, cleaner and more efficient providers of advanced real-time communications capabilities.
Earlier this year, GENBAND was awarded Silver Status in BT Group PLC’s Better Future Supplier Forum, which was created in 2012 to drive sustainability innovation in its supply chain and with the goal to help its customers reduce their carbon emission by three times the end-to-end impact of its own business.
