GENBAND’s A2 Communications Application Server Featured in FCC's New Technology Experience Center
Frisco, Texas, July 13, 2011 – GENBAND, a leading developer of IP infrastructure and application solutions, today announced that its IMS-based A2™ Communications Application Server will be featured as part of the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) new “Technology Experience Center”, an onsite technology center that provides FCC employees and guests the opportunity to increase their understanding of new products and experience the latest communications devices at the forefront of the technology, broadcast, radio and mobile revolution.
The unique center is an innovative resource for all FCC employees and visitors to engage directly with the latest technologies and to promote better employee understanding of the current state of technology in the industries in which the Commission oversees. GENBAND’s IMS-based A2 Communications Application Server delivers a rich suite of communications solutions that seamlessly blend traditional telephony services, such as voice and video communications, with cloud-based “social media” communications. These services are provided device independently on the next generation GENBAND GENiUS™ platform. The capabilities being showcased include Unified Communications with audio/video calling, voicemail, conferencing services (audio/video and web), web call services (click-to-call, click-to-email, web mail), and instant messaging/presence. All of these are available on both broadband or mobile network enabled devices.
“We are proud to be among the first companies to participate in the FCC’s groundbreaking Technology Experience Center,” said Charlie Vogt, President and CEO of GENBAND. “Providing residential and business broadband customers with feature-rich, Unified Communications capabilities and enabling access anytime, anywhere, from any device, our A2 Communications Application Server is perfectly suited for this unique FCC initiative. GENBAND solutions are helping to fuel the expansion of broadband access and adoption in communities across the U.S. and around the world, thereby increasing productivity, spurring investments in technology and infrastructure, and providing long-term economic benefits.”
At a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski taking place today in Washington DC, GENBAND will demonstrate the broad capabilities of its Unified Communications solutions. The ceremony will be webcast live starting at 10:00 a.m. Eastern at http://fcc.gov/live.
