General Bandwidth Appoints Chief Financial Officer

Austin, Texas – General Bandwidth, a leading Voice over IP equipment manufacturer enabling rapid deployment and new service revenue generation over broadband networks, today announced that Jan E. Gaulding has joined General Bandwidth as its chief financial officer reporting directly to Charles Vogt, General Bandwidth’s president and chief executive officer.  In this role, Jan will lead the global financial and administrative functions of the company, including finance, investor relations, and human resources.

“We are very pleased to welcome Jan to General Bandwidth,” said Charles Vogt, president and chief executive officer, General Bandwidth.  “Jan's extensive track record in building successful financial organizations, experience in SEC compliance, and her completion of over 22 mergers and acquisitions makes her an ideal addition to General Bandwidth's executive management team.”

Gaulding is a senior executive with extensive experience, strong financial and executive leadership and a background primarily within the technology industry.  Most recently, she was the chief financial officer of Sevin Rosen Funds, a venture capital firm with $1.6 billion under management and investments in over 70 portfolio companies.  Prior to Sevin Rosen Funds, Gaulding served as the chief financial officer of ProNet Inc. for 14 years.  During her appointment to ProNet, Gaulding participated in the transformation of the company from a niche wireless service provider to a broad-based national service provider, accomplished primarily through an aggressive acquisition program.  Gaulding selected, integrated and financed 22 acquisitions with a purchase price of $210 million, resulting in a ten fold increase in subscribers to over one million and annual revenue growth from $21 million to $120 million.  Gaulding raised funds from private equity sources and has conducted an IPO and secondary equity and debt offerings, raising a total of $372 million to finance expansion plans.

Previous to working at ProNet, Ms. Gaulding was an audit supervisor at Ernst & Young in Dallas, Texas, where she oversaw audits of clients specializing in high technology and entrepreneurial companies.  She has earned a bachelor of science in business and public administration from the University of Texas at Dallas.  Ms. Gaulding also is a certified public accountant.

“Jan’s proven skills in structuring global strategies and financial planning will be extremely valuable as General Bandwidth continues to scale for the worldwide markets,” said Jon Bayless, chairman, General Bandwidth.  “Her appointment is another important step in the expansion and strengthening of our executive management.  With the considerable talent General Bandwidth added to its team during the last year, General Bandwidth is well positioned for global and market leadership.”
