HOT TELECOM Selects GENBAND Softswitch Platform for End-to-End Class 4 Softswitch Deployment
Plano, TX, December 1, 2009 – GENBAND Inc., a market-leading developer of IP infrastructure solutions, today announced that HOT Telecom, the leading cable triple play provider in Israel, has selected GENBAND for its end-to-end softswitch requirements. HOT Telecom is replacing existing Class 4 softswitches from other vendors with GENBAND’s G9™ Converged Gateway and C3™ Gateway Controller. GENBAND partnered with leading Israeli systems integration provider, Bynet Data Communications, to win the competitive HOT contract.
“After a comprehensive review, we were impressed with the flexibility of the GENBAND solution, which not only enables us to migrate to next generation services, but also provides our customers all legacy features without disruption,” said Yanir Saraga, Director of Telecom Engineering of HOT. “GENBAND also demonstrated tier 1 support capabilities, long-term stability and an excellent, trusted partner, Bynet, here in Israel.”
“We are very pleased to be working with market-share leader HOT to consolidate its softswitch architecture,” said Pablo Gargiulo, President of Global Operations at GENBAND. “Together with our strategic partner Bynet, we are providing a new level of network reliability, flexibility and scalability for the HOT network. The advanced routing, control, and integrated features in the GENBAND softswitch solution allow HOT to manage the complex interworkings of their state-of-the-art network and migrate to a host of new revenue-producing VoIP applications and services moving forward.”
“GENBAND’s capabilities are highly competitive, allowing operators to provide Class 4 IP Tandem, International gateway, and broadband subscriber services without deploying multiple standalone systems,” said Alex Koyfman, Engineering Manager at Bynet. “HOT’s rigorous review of the GENBAND solution enabled us to demonstrate why a standards-based softswitch provides the simplest and most compelling cost savings and revenue generation opportunities. As a long-standing partner to HOT, we are very pleased to support its continued growth in triple play market leadership.”
The GENBAND softswitch platform combines gateways and softswitch elements that can be distributed, centralized, or a combination of both, using standard interfaces for signaling and management. Operators can cap-and-grow or replace their Class 4 local and access tandems, Long Distance, and International transit switches or modernize their networks with next generation VoIP technology that supports fixed and mobile IP media types and is fully IMS-ready.
