Industry Veteran Jack Sorci Joins GENBAND Management Team to Head Up Global Channel Sales

 

 

October 17, 2006, Plano, TX - GENBAND™ Inc., a leading provider of IMS-based telecommunications applications and infrastructure products enabling converged IP multimedia services, announced today that Jack Sorci has joined GENBAND to lead the company’s worldwide channel sales efforts. Jack Sorci, a former Alcatel and Sylantro executive with more than 25 years of channel development and sales experience, has joined GENBAND in the new position of Vice President, Business Development and Channel Sales. He is reporting to Charles Vogt, president and CEO of GENBAND, where he will be responsible for business development and leading the sales efforts of GENBAND’s growing channel partners.

With over 25 years in technology and telecommunications companies, Jack Sorci brings extensive experience working with both early stage and mature organizations. Most recently, as Corporate Officer and Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Channels for Sylantro Systems, Jack had overall responsibility for Sylantro’s sales channel strategy, partnerships, and alliances globally. In this role, Jack secured relationships (OEM and basic reseller) with Nortel, Alcatel, Siemens, IBM, Sonus, and Dynavar/Solunet. These partners carried a significant percentage of Sylantro’s revenue. Prior to Sylantro, Jack was Vice President of North America Channels where he directed Alcatel’s VoIP PBX entry into the marketplace through national and regional partnerships. While continuing with Alcatel’s Networking Division, he became responsible for North America Business Development and Alliances establishing landmark relationships for Alcatel. These included alliances with Verizon, NextiraOne, IBM and over 40 Interconnects. Prior to Alcatel, Jack was account vice president for DSC Corporation where he directed Access and Transmission teams to significant record growth. Jack has also held critical sales management roles with Teradyne, and Xerox Data Systems. Jack began his career at Xerox Data Systems and holds a BA degree in economics from Northwestern University.
