Plano, TX, February 17, 2009 - Iskratel, d.o.o, Kranj, a leading solution and network equipment provider, and GENBAND Inc., a market-leading developer of next-generation IP infrastructure solutions, today announced the interoperability of the SI3000 Call Server (SI3000 CS) and the G9™ Converged Gateway.

Incorporating the GENBAND G9 Gateway into Iskratel’s solution portfolio enables Iskratel to achieve a stronger position in the field of high-capacity metropolitan networks. The G9 platform also allows the SI3000 CS softswitch to interoperate with mobile networks.

The SI3000 CS is well known for its wide portfolio of supported networking protocols which also covers Russian specifics. Due to Iskratel’s strong presence in Eastern and Central European markets, the combination of the SI3000 CS and the G9 gateway strengthens both companies’ portfolios for the European urban networking segment.

The SI3000 CS provides the carrier with seamless interoperability, whether offering services in a mixed TDM–NGN environment or whether fully migrating from a TDM to an NGN solution.

GENBAND's G9 Gateway mediates between circuit-switched telephone and IP-based packet networks. It translates signaling and other protocols between the two, allowing operators to offer a broader suite of subscriber services on existing network infrastructures without additional investments.
