Plano, TX, February 10, 2009 - GENBAND Inc., a market-leading developer of next-generation IP infrastructure solutions, today announced that Pac-West Telecomm, Inc., a leading wholesale provider of advanced telecommunications services, plans to deploy GENBAND S3 Session Border Controllers (SBC) as the preferred SBC network element in its next-generation VoIP network. GENBAND’s media and signaling gateways have been strategic elements of Pac-West’s network since 2004 when they began a multi-year transition to a packet-based platform.

With the deployment of the GENBAND S3 platform, Pac-West gains a significantly increased calls-per-second capacity while providing Pac-West customers streamlined SIP interoperability with any SIP enabled network device on the market. The combination of the S3 SBC with Pac-West’s existing GENBAND call control and media gateway solutions provides a robust and scalable SIP platform for Pac-West SIP peering and trunking customers through a single connection point.
