WESTFORD, Mass. – Sonus Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: SONS), a global leader in secure and intelligent Cloud communications, announced today that Veracity Networks, a leading provider of enterprise-grade Internet and phone services, chose Sonus to help increase its network capacity, protect its network from hackers and expand its services into new geographical territories.

Located in Utah, Veracity offers traditional SIP and hosted enterprise telecommunications solutions such as outbound local and long distance calling, direct inward dialing and other toll-free services. In order to meet growing customer demands outside the United States, Veracity needed a solution to help increase its worldwide footprint. Veracity selected the Sonus SBC SWe and deployed it in Amazon’s public Cloud to significantly increase service velocity, enabling the service provider to become an international carrier overnight.

Veracity also deployed the Sonus SBC 7000 to efficiently scale, handle and monetize the growing amount of audio, video and collaboration traffic crossing its networks. In addition to extra capacity, the SBC 7000 provides security measures to protect Veracity and its customers against Denial of Service (DoS) and Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, as well as toll fraud.

The ability to grow its voice network with the same trusted vendor has allowed Veracity to build a local, wholesale and customer interconnect voice infrastructure that efficiently handles customers’ most demanding communication and collaboration needs.

Quotes:

"The goal for Veracity Networks is simple: provide world-class service with a local touch,” said Chris Modesitt, chief technology officer, Veracity Networks. “If our world class communication services become impaired, our customers lose productivity and ultimately money. That’s why we trust Sonus to provide the resiliency and quality we need for our network.”

“Whether it is on-premises or in the Cloud, the proven strength of Sonus SBCs is the ability to enable, optimize and secure the influx in real-time traffic service providers are seeing today,” said Mykola Konrad, Sonus vice president, Product Management and Marketing. “Veracity’s selection of the SBC 7000 and SBC SWe for security enhancements, capacity upgrades and expansion is a proof point of that strength, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with them.”
