For Immediate Release: 22 February 2016
Key Takeaways:
- Sonus is demonstrating auto provisioning, elastic scalability and dynamic load-balancing of its virtual SBCs in the Cloud at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) “Open NFV Partner Showcase” during Mobile World Congress (MWC).
- Sonus brings the industry’s broadest SBC portfolio to public, private and hybrid Clouds with market-leading orchestration vendors.
BARCELONA, Spain – Sonus Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: SONS), a global leader in secure and intelligent Cloud communications, announced today that it is demonstrating automated instantiation, network-wide licensing and dynamic load balancing of its SBC SWe in the HPE Open NFV Cloud at MWC. This demonstration is a proof-point for the secure, scalable and highly efficient delivery of real-time communications in the Cloud.
Sonus is presenting its SBC as a Virtual Network Function (VNF) deployable as either an access or an interconnect SBC. The demonstration is comprised of the SBC SWe deployed in the HPE OpenStack environment and will display how virtualization advances the delivery of Cloud-based Unified Communications and Rich Communications Services. Sonus will also demonstrate:
- Auto-provisioning and auto-registration, enabling true elastic scalability and network-wide licensing, while eliminating manual configuration.
- Network-wide licensing for on-demand allocation of license from a common pool for easier license sharing between instances.
- Dynamic load balancing, removing the need for a front-end load balancer - reducing costs and enabling simpler network management.
