WESTFORD, Mass., August 29, 2000 – Sonus Networks (Nasdaq: SONS), a leading provider of voice infrastructure solutions for the new public network, today announced that it has been named a recipient of the InfoVision 2000 Award. Sonus’ PSX6000 SoftSwitch was chosen from among hundreds of nominees for the exclusive awards, which honor the information industry’s most innovative products and services.
The InfoVision 2000 Awards are presented by the International Engineering Consortium (IEC) and recognize technologies, applications, products and services judged to be the most unique and beneficial to the industry. The awards also acknowledge corporations and individuals for innovative contributions and developments that have proven important to society.
"It is a great privilege to receive the InfoVision 2000 Award, and we are particularly pleased to have been honored by the IEC for our contributions to the information industry for two straight years,” said Hassan Ahmed, Sonus’ president and CEO. “Our PSX6000 SoftSwitch has been recognized by carrier customers as the industry’s call management platform of choice, and this award highlights the leadership position we’re taking in building the new public network.”
