Plano, TX, March 31, 2009 - GENBAND Inc., a market-leading developer of IP infrastructure solutions, today announced that TelNet Worldwide, Inc. a comprehensive telecommunications service provider offering a robust portfolio of business communication services throughout the Great Lakes region, has deployed GENBAND G9™ Converged Gateways, C3 Signaling Controllers, and S3™ Session Border Controllers.  Together these systems fortify an IP service delivery environment and allow seamless interconnection with essential communication applications and networks to further TelNet Worldwide’s commitment of delivering the capabilities its business customers need to prosper.

TelNet Worldwide had previously deployed GENBAND’s G9 and C3 platforms for packet trunking of voice traffic across its extensive, fiber-based network. With its transition to all-IP, the company is using the G9 and C3 to intelligently route traffic across its network using cost-effective IP trunks. In addition, many enterprises are replacing their standard PBXs with IP PBXs, and GENBAND’s S3 is providing the security and interworking so that IP PBXs can peer directly with TelNet Worldwide’s IP network.

IP equipment used in the heart of the service provider network and within the enterprise uses a variety of protocol and signaling variants, making direct interconnection a challenge. By enabling direct SIP Trunking, the S3 SBC normalizes and securely manages this traffic so that voice traffic can proceed transparently between the networks. IP telephony applications integrate with the C3 and G9 platforms to efficiently route and terminate the traffic with other IP networks or the PSTN.
