Frisco, TX, December 1, 2010 – GENBAND, a leading developer of IP infrastructure and service solutions, today announced that TelstraClear, one of New Zealand's largest telecommunications companies, has selected GENBAND’s industry leading IP portfolio to offer a full VoIP interconnection service for other carriers connecting to its next generation IP fixed voice network.

TelstraClear’s new service enables other networks, including fixed-line operators, mobile network operators, VoIP providers and cable operators worldwide that currently juggle multiple single-country contracts with separate suppliers, to transport its global voice traffic seamlessly. Powered by GENBAND’s market-leading IP infrastructure solutions, TelstraClear is able to reduce its costs, expand markets and interwork with the growing volume of peering and managed interconnect services such as the GSM Association’s IP eXchange (IPX).
