I have spoken to many enterprise customers about their UC plans in industries such as finance, healthcare, education, retail and government agencies. What I have found is that they are all seeking the same thing when it comes to implementing unified communications - secure, smart and simple solutions.

The virtualization of these digital enterprises is creating substantial gains in employee productivity, with an unprecedented number of them “dialing in” from remote locations, and a parallel growth in the number of on-site workers in offices, hospitals and medical clinics, in classrooms, public venues and more staying connected using business workflow apps as companions.
Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) was designed to help the telecom industry accelerate innovation and launch services quickly, efficiently and cost-effectively. This is done primarily by replacing hardware-centric equipment with cloud native and microservices approaches that allow key core and edge functionality to be virtualized in telecommunications networks.
As real-time communications services are increasingly moving to the cloud, one of the biggest impacts and potential for growth revenue is coming at the intersection of software innovation and dramatically changing consumer behaviors.
Open Telecom initiatives continue to grow, as the benefits of belonging to NFV ecosystems are so compelling: working together, private cloud infrastructure, software and systems vendors are helping service providers "future proof" their networks and improve service agility, while avoiding vendor lock-in and continuing to build the basis for the development and launching of new and innovative services.
Over the last several years, we have been working with some of the largest and most successful Communications Service Providers (CSPs) in the world, and it's been fascinating to be part of their transformation teams, contributing to their large-scale projects, as virtualized and software defined networks emerge and legacy networks continue to fade into the past.
