Managed Packet Transport Edge Device

The NPT 1012D is an extremely compact edge device supporting Ethernet, Circuit Emulation Services (CES) MPLS-TP and IP/MPLS. The NPT 1012D supports two form factors, a hardened DIN-rail form factor optimized for remote locations with strict environmental and size requirements. A rack mountable form factor which uses a special 19” rack adapter allowing 2 NPT 1012Ds to be mounted side-by-side. In both its hardened DIN-rail form factor, or its 19” rack mountable form factor it supports 32 Gbps switching capacity, this makes it a perfect fit for operators looking for a flexible fully managed packet transport edge device.

NPT 1012D Overview

The NPT 1012D uses Ribbon’s industry proven IP Wave rNOS operating system to support Ethernet, IP/MPLS, MPLS-TP, segment routing and PON. The IP Wave rNOS streamlines multiservice networks by combining end-to-end service delivery with mission-critical grade assurance and control. With such a rich and robust feature set NPT 1012D is well suited for a wide variety of applications and networking scenarios. These include a gateway for mission-critical services, wholesale service delivery, and business VPN connectivity services. As with all of Ribbon’s NPT portfolio, NPT-1012 is managed by Ribbon’s Muse™ software suite.
