GENBAND Ranked Number 29 in Deloitte Wireless Fast 50

Wireless Media Gateway Has Driven the Company’s
596 Percent Revenue Growth

October 24, 2007, Plano, TX - GENBAND Inc., a market-leading developer of next-generation IP gateways and application solutions has been named to Deloitte's Wireless Fast 50 Program, a ranking of the 50 fastest growing wireless companies by Deloitte & Touche USA LLP, one of the nation’s leading professional services organizations.  Rankings are based on the percentage fiscal year revenue growth over five years from 2002–2006.

To qualify for the Wireless Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 2002 and $5,000,000 in 2006.  They must own proprietary wireless technology or proprietary wireless intellectual property that contributes to a significant portion of their operating revenues or devote a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of wireless technology.

Additionally, GENBAND's increase in revenues resulted in a ranking of 22 out of the top 50 in the Technology Fast 50 for Texas.  The Technology Fast 50 Program for Texas is a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, and life sciences companies in the area by Deloitte & Touche USA LLP.

Fueling this rapid rise was the GENBAND 8000 Wireless Media Gateway.  GENBAND shipped a record 7 million ports of this product during 2006 and over 26 million since product availability, establishing GENBAND as the worldwide market share leader in port shipments for all categories of media gateways. A critical component of any high-density wireless and wireline solution, the 8000 Wireless Media Gateway has been at the heart of network solutions worldwide for over five years.  In June this year, GENBAND unveiled the next-generation of this product with the G9 Converged Media Gateway. Optimized for fixed and mobile IP network deployments, the G9 platform represents a significant enhancement of GENBAND’s worldwide, market share-leading 8000 platform.

Companies from the Wireless Fast 50 program are automatically entered in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 program, which ranks North America’s top 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies.  For more information on Deloitte’s Wireless Fast 50 or Technology Fast 500 programs, visit www.fast500.com.

“GENBAND continues to diversify its portfolio to address the wireless market infrastructure and application demands” said Charles Vogt, president and chief executive officer of GENBAND.  “Our wireless media gateway and applications are used globally with wireless operators and we continue our efforts to be an innovation leader in the wireless, fixed-mobile convergence, and IMS arenas.”
