Metroplex Technology Business Council Names GENBAND CEO Charles Vogt Corporate CEO of the Year
Plano, TX, August 31, 2010 – GENBAND, a leading developer of IP solutions and services, today announced that the Company’s President and CEO, Charles Vogt, was recognized by the Metroplex Technology Business Council (MTBC) as Corporate CEO of the Year in recognition of his outstanding leadership in the technology and communications industry. The MTBC, the largest technology trade organization in Texas, presented Mr. Vogt the award during the tenth annual Tech Titans Awards Gala, held Friday, Aug. 27 at the Renaissance Hotel in Richardson, Texas. GENBAND was also recognized recently by the MTBC and Deloitte as the 3rd fastest-growing technology company in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) metroplex.
Vogt joined GENBAND in September 2004. Under his leadership over the past six years, GENBAND has achieved 130 percent compound annual growth in revenue and has grown from a single product company into a global market-share leader in next generation IP switching and application infrastructure. Strategic acquisitions of Tekelec’s IP switching division, NextPoint Networks and most recently Nortel’s Carrier IP switching division have transformed the company’s product portfolio, customer profile, geographic footprint and financial performance. These significant results can be attributed to Vogt’s vision, focus and unique go-to-market strategy.
“I’m honored to accept this prestigious award, and do so recognizing that our achievements and growth at GENBAND are attributed to our diverse and talented employees around the world,” said Mr. Vogt. “Without the relentless focus, hard work and entrepreneurial spirit of the entire company, this award would not have been possible. We look forward to even further success as we strive to unleash new possibilities in communications through our IP innovation.”
The MTBC’s Tech Titans Awards recognize outstanding technology companies and individuals in the North Texas area who have made significant contributions to the industry during the past year.
“The Tech Titans and Titan Fast Tech Awards provide the premier recognition of fast-growing, highly innovative companies that contribute to the vibrancy of the North Texas economy and make our region an exciting place to live and work,” said Cindi Keith, partner/technology marketing industry leader, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and co-chair of the MTBC’s Tech Titans steering committee. “We are proud to showcase the true leaders in our industry and celebrate their hard work and creativity.”
The North Texas region is one of the leading centers for technology business and innovation both in the U.S. and globally. Tech America (formerly AeA) recently ranked the Dallas-Fort Worth area fifth among U.S. cities in high-tech employment. In addition, the Dallas-Fort Worth area ranked second nationwide for employment in both the telecommunications services and internet services sectors, and the region is also home to one-half of Texas’ technology workforce.
