Building Together: Ideas Exchanged at GENBAND’s First Organized Enterprise User Group

November 6th, 2014
Carl Baptiste, Senior Vice President of Enterprise Solutions and Product Line Management, GENBAND

Earlier this week in Richardson, Texas, I had the pleasure of hosting GENBAND’s first organized Enterprise User Group, which will now meet twice each year – during the spring at our Perspectives global customer and partner conference, and each fall. Over 60 people from the US and Canada came together, benefitting from an open exchange where participants shared ideas, asked questions and provided invaluable suggestions to GENBAND’s Product Line Management (PLM) and Professional Services teams.

Topics included discussions around GENBAND’s popular C20 Call Session Controllers, our range of Gateway solutions, our SPiDR™WebRTC Gateway, Intelligent Messaging (IMM) and GVPP (GENBAND’s provisioning platform).

We were honored to be sponsored by our partners, Polycom and T-Metrics, along with channel partner sponsors Black Box and ArrowS3

One of our partners predicted attendance will triple in 2015 – which makes sense given the tremendous growth of our Enterprise business.

While GENBAND is known for “over the top” events, like Perspectives14  and our more recent launch of Kandy, the Enterprise User Group get together was less about marketing and more about connecting – working with the people “in the trenches” and digging into technical content and operational approaches.

One message deeply resonated: the value of thinking ahead and creating a “three-year plan” to evolve legacy telephony into next-gen private cloud-based unified communications (UC) solutions.

GENBAND provides a seamless evolution path — The 5 Point Formula to Success:

1. License preservation
2. End point preservation
3. Feature preservation
4. Power Savings
5. Real Estate Savings

Simplicity drives success!

James Ingram, Telecommunications Systems Manager for York University, said:

"Attending the GENBAND Insight Knowledge Transfer provided an in depth and valuable look into the new and existing technologies provided by GENBAND and its partners. The diverse session content provided by GENBAND product specialists will provide the information I require to plan and present a clear technology path for our institution. Also the event allowed me to discuss with my peers issues, best practices, and possible new features and use cases."

Roger Pohl from T-Metrics “I really wanted to thank GENBAND and Richard Travis specifically for bringing this User Group back into creation.  Great job team.”

GENBAND’s Enterprise Sales and Marketing team rocked the logistics and made the day incredibly smooth, productive and fun.

Contact me if you’re interested in attending our spring session in Orlando, Florida upcoming in May – don’t miss out! The future is being created here – together.
