WiC: I’m With Them!

On August 14 I get to participate in one of my favorite events as a professional woman. The 12th Women in the Channel (WiC) Networking and Enrichment Event is taking place from 5 – 8 pm during the Channel Partners Evolution Conference & Expo at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in Washington, D.C. and I am looking forward to this year’s event more than ever. Over the years being a part of WiC has allowed me to grow professionally, be an advocate for something that I strongly believe in and meet some of the most amazing, inspiring and powerful women in our industry.
I am particularly excited about this year’s event, not only because of the great program, but also because of this historic time in our country’s history. We are nominating a woman to be president of the United States and regardless of your political affiliation that speaks volumes to the advancements that women have made in the business and political world. We have women running Fortune 500 companies and leading some of the most powerful countries in the world. And while we still have a long way to go, progress is definitely being made.
GENBAND is a longtime supporter of WiC and we are proud to be an ongoing sponsor of WiC networking events. We strongly believe in supporting their mission of connecting female leaders in the telecom and IT channels for the purpose of collaborating to grow our businesses, support each other as women and mentor each other. I constantly encourage my team members and colleagues to be a part of WiC because it is such a great organization and I have seen firsthand the value and rewards that it offers.
This year’s Fall event features a keynote address by Michele Thornton, Senior Vice President of BET Networks, author, wife and mother. Her story is amazing and I am looking forward to hearing her presentation. The overall conference will also include topics that resonate with all of us, including equal pay.
The great thing about the Women in the Channel Networking and Enrichment Event is that it is open to all women attending the Channel Partner’s Evolution Expo & Conference.
